CBC.ca videos should work on the following browsers:
- Edge 95+ Chromium (Windows 10 only)
- Chrome 95+ desktop (Windows or Mac OS)
- Safari 14+ desktop (Mac OS only)
- Firefox 94+ desktop (Windows or Mac OS)
- Internet Explorer 11 (Windows only) - Internet Explorer 11 may still work but CBC will not support it. Not many people are using IE11 including the CBC audience. Users are therefore advised to upgrade their web browser.
JavaScript must be enabled to play videos on cbc.ca, you can visit supportdetails.com to verify that JavaScript is enabled in your browser.
In some browsers, Adobe Flash is required to watch some cbc.ca videos on the desktop. To ensure the best experience, using one of the supported browsers mentioned above please check that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash player enabled by either:
- Visiting supportdetails.com which will give you all details about your browser and plugin data, or
- Visiting www.adobe.com/software/flash/about to see if Flash is enabled - look for the box that says Version Information.
Mobile Devices
CBC.ca videos should work on the following mobile devices:
- iPhone iOS 13, 14
- iPad iOS 13, 14
- Android 5.0 - 5.1.1 (via Nexus 7 and 9 tablets)
- Android 6.0 (via Nexus 6 phone)
- Android 7.0 (via Samsung Galaxy S8 phone)
- Android 8.0 (via Google Pixel phone)
- Android 9.0 (via Samsung Galaxy S9 phone)
- Android 10.0 (via Samsung Galaxy S9 phone)
- Android 11.0 (via Samsung Galaxy S9 phone)
- Android 12

Note: Any browser or mobile device older than currently listed may still work but CBC will not support it. In general, support for a browser or mobile device will be dropped if:
- its extrapolated usage (over the next 3 months) will be less than 3% usage (based on on the CBC audience)
- support is dropped by the manufacturer
